My Vlog Years: Before the Songs

Before the songs, there were the videos. This is where it started.

How did the videos start?

I started making YouTube videos when I was ten. In November 2019 I co-founded The Hype House, the TikTok collective, and I came up with its name. I was a member from 2019 to 2022, and I appeared in Netflix's Hype House series, which came out in January 2022.

When did the music take over?

My first single, "One More I Love You", came out independently in June 2021, and in August 2022 I signed with Atlantic Records. Songs like "Before You Leave Me" and "Carry You Home" followed in 2024.

Which designs nod to those years?

Alex's Vlogs puts "ALEX's" in thin white capitals over "VLOGS" in hand-drawn rainbow letters, with a row of Roman numerals. It's a throwback to the YouTube years.

No Sleep sets the words in chunky white letters with a thick red outline, arched like a college crest and turned upside down.

OOF goes big in teal, yellow and grey on the front, with the coordinates of my hometown, Carlsbad, California, on the back.
